Why should I use Walk In The Park Pet Sitting?

No time limits! We believe in quality over quantity and strive to meet every pet’s need. We specialize in pets with behavioral needs such as shy cats who take time to warm up or dogs who bark at other passing dogs. We are trained to administer medicines including insulin shots and sub-q fluids. This is why no time limit is such a benefit – because it allows us the extra time to work with and care for your pet.

What kind of animals do you care for?

While most of our clients are cats and dogs, we also care for a variety of other animals. We care for pocket pets, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and birds.

How do I set up my free consultation?

Once you have looked at our website and decided that you want to set up your free consultation, click the book now button to fill out the contact form. We will then call you to talk about your pets needs. Once we speak, we will approve your account, and you can then set up your pet’s profile. Please make sure to answer all the questions. After you set up your Pet Portal account, we will review it and then contact you to set up your consultation.

Do I have to do a consultation prior to requesting a service?

Yes. The consultation is an essential part of the pet sitting process. During the consultation, we will go over a list of questions about your pets and your home. We want to learn as much about your pet as possible before we start any services. This meeting gives you the chance to get to know us, as well making sure we are the right match for your pets’ needs.

What do I need to provide at the consultation?

When you request a consultation, we will contact you to set up a date/time and to ask some fundamental questions about your pet(s). At the consultation, we will meet your pet(s) and ask more in-depth questions.

What happens during a visit?

During a visit, we will arrive within a two-hour window.  While you are away, we take your dog for a walk to provide your dog with exercise and a chance to potty. We also will give them lunch and any prescribed medications (if needed). During pet sitting visits, we come up to 4 times for as long as the visit takes. Depending upon your pets needs, we take them for a walk or spend quality time with them in your home. We give them breakfast/dinner, fresh water, and any prescribed medications. Do you offer over night sits?

At this time we do not offer overnight stays.

Do you come at the same time every day?

While we try our best to accommodate each pet’s needs, we cannot promise a specific time. We come to your house within a two-hour window, such as 7am-9am, 11am-1pm, or 5pm-7pm.

Can I book visits through my pet sitter?

No, we require that all service request can be made through our portal system. The portal is where you will enter yours and your pet’s information. The portal system is also where you can request services.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be made within 48 hours before the start of services to receive a 100% refund. Same day cancellations will receive a 50% refund. If receiving weekly mid-day visits, same day cancellations made before 9 am on the day of service will be credited.

How is payment handled?

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. All payments are to be made in full two days before the start of services.

What is your privacy policy?

Your privacy is essential to us, and we take it very seriously. All your information is stored in your online portal, which is only accessible by our staff. Nothing is written down or brought with us. Keys are labeled with your pet’s name and your last name and securely stored.
